PIP: SWAT SHOW AND TELL
The Houston Police Department SWAT Team was at the July 11th, PIP Meeting. The meeting took place at 1602 State Street (Houston Police Officers Union Hall).

Participants were able to meet their Houston SWAT Team! They brought a few of their “tools of the trade” which included armored vehicles, firearms, and tactical equipment which they were able to showcase to the citizen’s in attendance.
The event was a huge hit with the kids.
The Houston Police Department SWAT Team is a Tier One Regional SWAT Team that has the responsibility of responding to all Special Threat Situations involving active shooters, barricaded suspects, snipers, hostage situations, terrorist activity and threatened suicides. On any given day you may see members of the SWAT Team conducting training in the following areas; firearms training, fast rope and rappelling operations, waterborne operations, helicopter operations, weapons of mass destruction and hostage rescue to name a few.
